Brazil`s ex- President Lula sentenced to 9 and a half years in prison|wiseupo




                                   Former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva

 has been found guilty  on corruption scandal, charges stemming from a scheme at the country oil company called PETROBRAS,  He was found Guilty by the lead judge Sergio Moro in  the multi- billion dollar corruption  probe known as -CARWASH ,It`s reported that Lula has been sentenced to nine and a half years of  imprisonment. His sentencing  also includes money laundering, bribery, influence peddling and obstruction of justice.   It is said that the Judge has not asked for the former president`S immediate arrest, he will remain free for appeal.

The ruling is marked a stunning fall for  Brazil`s  first working class president who left office with 82 percent approval rating.
In his ruling Moro stated that Lula had received undue benefits from OAS construction company and tried to hide this ownership of a beachside apartment , including an upgrade of the property
Even at this the 71 years old former Brazilian president Lula remains one of the most popular presidents in Brazilian history. Lula served eight years as president  until 2011.
