Before I go further let me start off by reminding people of what is submission according to God`S word.

Nigerian men have gone out of their way to subject women , normally quoting the scriptures or just saying that it is in their culture that women submit. they say this with pride not minding what a woman is put through in the name of of submission, I BELIEVE IN BIBLICAL SUBMISSION, BUT I FIND IT HARD TO SUCCUMB TO CULTURAL SUBMISSION, BECAUSE IT IS MADE OF HUMANS TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES, AND HIDING BEHIND THE "CULTURE"

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT SUBMISSION

IN THE BOOK book of Ephesians 5: 21-31  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh

Now let us looK at the text and take each and every verse step by step to understand what it means.

We see in verse 21 it first talks about submitting ourselves to one another,
what this means is that we should listen to one another and be humble towards each other as humans or brothers in the congregation, one can extend this passage to submit to everyone no matter the height , race , beauty, age, gender and ext.

22; tells wives to be submissive to their husbands as unto the lord." as to the Lord" is the key here
it actually says summit to your husbands as you would submit to GOD, now it is up to a Christian women to know what and what the Lord would wan them to submit to.
christian women are to look T THE QUlities of God and know what God loves and hate the submit to those things when it comes totheir husbands. Let us look at some examples

           THINGS THAT MAY NOT PLEASE GOD WHEN YOU SUBMIT TO

• THREESOME: "occasion on which three people engage in sexual activity together"
• In this case your husband urges you in the name of submission to engage in THREESOME, in this case you know you have to politely decline, remembering that this is not the type of submission GOD WOULD REQUEST FROM YOU, as you know that GOD IS AGAINST ANY SORT OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY, Romans 13:13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

1 Corinthians 6:13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

There are many other biblocal verses that condemns sexual immorality, but lets hang on to the above Examples, so by declining you are not wrong but pleasing to God and if your husband forces you in anyway by means of violence, he will have his judgement on the judgement day always remember. GOD SEARCHES THE HEART.

•  PLEASING YOUR HUSBAND

      It is your husband`S right to have you sexually, in this way you have to agree by following what the scripture says in 1 Corinthians 7:4 A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does.

I can go on and on but these are the examples ive put up, hoping you understand how to submit to your husbandas to the lord, you it  but paying attention to the biblical instructions from the bible and what God would want you to and not to do concerning pleasing your husband. It is your decision to make when it comes to what and what not to summit to. Before you make that decision remember marriage doesnt gaurantee heaven only paying attention and applying Gods words and principles into your daily life.

MEN TOO ARE URGED TO LOVE THEIR WIVES, I CAN SAY WHILE WIVES SUBMIT MEN SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AND LOVE THEM TO SHOW APPRECIATION, NOT JUST LOVE THEM BUT LOVE THEM AS THEY LOVE THEMSELVES, MEANING MEN SHOULD NOT HURT THEIR WIVES, ABUSE THEM EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY, THEY SHOULD CHERISH THEM, AS IF WITHOUT THEIR WIFE IS WOULD NOT BE COMPLETE , NOT WHAT WE SEE THESE DAYS.  MEN SHOULD CONSIDER THE TYPE OF BIBLICAL SUBMISSION WIVES HAVE TO SUBMIT TO , APPRECIATE AND LOVE THEM FOR THAT SO THAT WIVES WILL BE MOVED TO SHOW DEEP RESPECT FOR THEIR HUSBANDS.

 

I WANT TO USE AN EXAMPLE ABOUT NIGERIAN AND WIVES SUBMISSION AND WHAT IT MEANS THERE

HOW HAVE MEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THIS WORD SUBMISSION

NIGERIAN MEN HAVE FOR A FACT TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THE WORD SUBMISSION TO SUBJECT WOMEN INTO SO MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERING.

I MAY SAY WITHOUT A DOUBT  that Nigerian women do marry and celebrate 50 or more years of marriage of stressful and filled with misery marriages.

When they marry they worry about a child and when they finally get one if is a baby girl they have to worry about a male child.

They have no choice but to stay and endure the cheatings and maltreatment from in laws. In Nigerian part of its tribes see  every men's wicked deeds as a woman's fault, so women have to always ways be in their best in order to please both thehusbands and his extended family members. 

If it happens that a man cheats on his wife, when she dares to let the family know it's all  blamed on her. Nigerian men have so many emotional and physical ways to punish their wives, who have no rights whenever they question their submission. They punish them by beating them up, threatening to send them packing back to their families, even not eating the wives food or not sleeping at home .Most Nigerian women know that their husbands allure unfaithful, and they just turn a blond.eye avoiding troubles or being sent back packing.Some Nigerian  women are expected to be submitting even to people who have nothing to do with the relationship, such as the husbands friends, cousins and ext. Most Nigerians use submission to suppress women and leave them desperate and always trying for to please them.husbands instead of God.

 Nigerian submission is not based on biblical standards but more on culture and the culture is always against women and their right to live happily and have a say in their marriages. forgetting that the bible urges men to be considerate of their wives since they are of a weaker vessels.

what does wife`S submission really means to a Nigerian man and their culture

1. YOU ARE A PUPPET AND HAVE TO BE A PERFECT AND SUBMISSIVE WIFE
2. YOU HAVE TO OBEY ORDERS OR I WILL SEND YOU PACKING WITH YOUR KIDS
3. YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE INCLUDING GIVING ME SEX WHEN I WANT WHETHER YOU WANT OR NOT. ( MAID AND SEX TOY)
4. I CAN GO OUT DRINK GET DRUNK AND HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS,  AND COME BACK AT WHATEVER TIME.YOUR OWN IS TO STAY HOME TAKE CARE OF THE HOUSE AND KIDS BE HOME AND ALWAYS BE ON TIME
5. I CAN HAVE SEX WITH AS MANY WOMEN AS I WANT EVEN PREGNANT THEM, IF YOU DARE SAY SOMETHING YOU WILL BE OUT OF MY HOUSE AND BACK WITH YOUR PARENTS, YOU HAVE NO SAY JUST SUBMIT.
6. I CAN HAVE MANY KIDS BEFORE MARRIAGE, WITH DIFFERENT WOMEN, BUT YOU CAN NOT YOU AS A NIGERIAN WOMAN YOU MUST ABORT AS MANY AS YOU CAN UNTIL YOU MARRY, OTHERWISE NO MAN WILL WANT YOU, THAT IS THE CULTURE.
7. MY FAMILY MEMBERS CAN COME AND GO AS THEY PLEASE YOUR OWN IS TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.
8. FAILURE TO FOLLOW MY ORDER WILL WARRANT THAT I BEAT THE HELL OUT OF YOU.
9.  YOU CAN ONLY BE SEEN NOT HEARD , YOU JUST LISTEN AND SAY NOTHING , BECAUSE YOU ARE NOTHING WITHOUT ME, YOU ARE TO BE VOICELESS JUST A ROBOT, WHO OPENS HER LEGS, AND DO AS I SAY.
10. YOU ARE A WOMAN YOU ARE UNDER ME YOU CAN BE CONTROLLED DISCIPLINED AND EVEN THROWN OUT IF YOU DARE NOT DO AS I SAY.
11. I WILL INSULT YOU , CALL YOU ALL SORTS OF NAMES AND YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT, AND SAY NOTHING BECAUSE AM YOUR HUSBAND YOUR HEAD,

 IF YOU DO NOT SUBMIT , A NIGERIAN MEN IS READY TO LEAVE YOU WITH THOSE KIDS AND MOVE TO THE NEXT PERSON , WHOM HE CAN CONTROL, SO IS BEST TO ALWAYS HAVE PLAN B, NEVER LEAVE YOUR FRIENDS, ALWAYS WORK AND SAVE UP, CAUSE YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHEN YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE IT ANYMORE. THEY BEHAVE AS IF THERE HAVE NO LOVE IN THEIR HEARTS ,A WOMAN SHOULD ENDURE BUT NEVER THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE BORN PERFECT.

I CAN GO ON AND ON  ABOUT WHAT SUBMISSION MEANS TO NIGERIAN MEN AND THEIR CULTURE. WE ALL KNOW THAT GOD IS TOO KIND TO EVEN APPRECIATE SUCH TREATMENT, SO IT IS NOW UP TO YOU WHAT YOU WANT , KNOW IT IF YOU MEET A CLOSE MINDED TYPICAL NIGERIAN YOU ARE TO SUCCUMB OR SUFFER BEING DUMPED LIKE A USED PAD.

NIGERIAN MEN NEED A WOMAN THEY CAN CONTROL AND FEEL IN CONTROL WHEN DATING HER , NOT THE ONE THAT WILL CHALLENGE THEM, TO NIGERIANS WOMEN HAVE NO FEELINGS, THEY CAN TAKE ANY ABUSE.
